The first of many trips to Colmar, we took the train (only 45 minutes!) to Colmar, France. Colmar is a quaint little French town with small little canals nicknamed "Little Venice." This place is basically the model for Beauty and the Beast.

| Little Town, it's Quiet Village... |
When you arrive by train, there's a short walk to the main part of the town. You can get some lovely food there - there are some traditional Alsatian dishes and, of course, try the Alsatian wine - and walk by the canals.

| Didn't get a shot of the macaroons but I'm pretty sure the yumminess was why they decided to be nice to each other. :) |
There is a nice little park with a playground for the littles and an old-time carousel on the way (but we usually reserve this as a treat on the way back to the train).

Anyway, that's a wrap. It's super easy and quaint day trip from Basel.
